Assistant Professor with expertise in prostate cancer nano-theranostics

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) invites applications for a tenured-track assistant professor position from outstanding candidates with expertise, experience and substantial federal grant support in the area of prostate cancer nano-theranostics. Appointees to the Ladder Rank series are required to conduct independent research demarcated by regular publication and external funding, engage in teaching on a regular and significant basis, and participate in University and public service. This recruitment is being conducted at the assistant rank. The resulting hire will be at the assistant rank, regardless of the proposed appointee’s qualifications.

Successful candidates must possess a PhD degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate is expected to play a major role in establishing a high-impact translational prostate cancer nano-theranostics program at the UC Davis NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a multidisciplinary background in nanotechnology, molecular imaging, prostate cancer, combinatorial chemistry, and/or polymer chemistry. Prior experience in translational cancer research, including scale-up production of FDA-required good manufacture practice (GMP) grade nano-formulations, is highly desirable. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a perse environment is required.
