2013年6月，雅思考试美国办公室负责人(IELTS USA)携手哥伦比亚大学(Columbia University)， 加州大学洛杉矶分校 (UCLA)，密歇根大学(University of Michigan)三所美国顶尖名校的招生官和资深英语教学专家与中国学生零距离面对面。雅思考试目前广为世界各国政府、院校机构认可。在全世界有120多个国家和地区举行，是世界上增长最快的国家。雅思在美国也同样被广泛认可。在此，英国大使馆文化教育处提供了，最受国际学生欢迎的19所美国院校雅思分数要求。此排名源自Open Doors公布的最受国际学生欢迎美国院校排名，数据更新于2013年5月。统计显示，19所最受国际学生欢迎的美国院校当中，全部院校的本科课程和研究生课程接受雅思成绩的申请。
